Community to Community Development
Balcos Insurance donates $1500 to Community to Community Development
Seattle, Washington (June 20, 2009) – Balcos Insurance, inc. announced today that Safeco Insurance has donated $1,500 to Community to Community Development in Bellingham, Washington to support their Food Justice Alliance program.
Safeco’s contribution was presented to Community to Community Development by Michelle Ferris of Balcos Insurance. Ferris nominated Community to Community Development for a grant through Safeco’s Agent Giving Program.
“Community to Community Development’s mission is to empower people while respecting the land that sustains us,” said Ms. Ferris, “Safeco’s grant to Community to Community Development is a wonderful way to support our community.”
Community to Community Development has been featured in the Balcos Insurance newsletter before as part of the Balcos Referral Rewards program. A featured charity gets funding for every referral that calls in to Balcos Insurance for a quote. Upon learning more about the benefit that Community to Community Development was having on the community, Ms. Ferris found herself wanting to support the organization in a more substantial way, thus leading her to Safeco’s Agent Giving Program.

The Safeco Agent Giving Program provides grants to nonprofit organizations that primarily support youth and people with disabilities with an emphasis on education and after-school programs, health and safety, civic and cultural programs.
